Developed in 1932, 8mm film (16mm cut in half) was widely used in the 50s and 60s.  As magnetic tape became the standard for home video recording, film lost it's popularity.  It was very late in including audio as tape did.  We move film to DVDs complete with menu options.  The price is $.25 per foot which includes splicing (and re-splicing,) cleaning and returning your film on 7" reels.  (BACK)
